XI. Cookies, web beacons and other technologies
As described above, we collect personal information from your visits to our websites and your use of our offerings to gather statistical data about the use and effectiveness of our websites, to personalize your experience on our website for you, and to best tailor our interaction with you. To do this, we use various technologies, including scripts, tags, local shared objects (flash cookies), local storage (HTML5) beacons and so-called "cookies". A cookie is an element of data that a website sends to your browser to store on your system as an identifier that identifies your system. While cookies are often used only to measure the usage (number of visitors and length of a visit) and effectiveness (topics the visitor is most interested in) of a website and to facilitate navigation or use, and as such are not linked to personally identifiable information, they are also occasionally used to personalize the website experience of a known visitor by associating profile information or user preferences. Over time, this information provides valuable insights that help us improve the user experience on a website.
Cookies are usually divided into session cookies and permanent cookies. Session cookies allow you to navigate the website in an efficient manner, with cookies logging your path through each web page so that you are not prompted to enter information that you have already entered shortly before during the same visit to that website. Session cookies are stored in temporary memory and deleted as soon as the web browser is closed. Permanent cookies, on the other hand, store user settings for the current visit as well as for future visits to the website. They are stored on your hard drive and remain valid when you restart the browser. For example, we use permanent cookies to record your language selection and country information.
While memox does not currently recognize automated browser signals related to monitoring practices, such as "do not track" statements, you can generally set your privacy preferences in connection with the use of most cookies and similar technologies through your web browser. You can find information on how to control cookies under the "Tools" (or similar) heading in your browser. In most cases, you will have the option to set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie so that you can decide whether or not to accept it.
We use local shared objects such as flash cookies and local storage such as HTML5 to store content information and user preferences. Third parties we work with to provide certain features on our website based on your web browsing activity or to display IBM advertisements on third-party websites also use flash cookies or HTML5 to collect and store information. Different browsers may provide their own management tools to remove HTML5.
We may also include web beacons in email messages for marketing purposes or in our newsletters to determine whether messages have been opened and links contained therein have been clicked on.
XII. Web Analysis
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc ("Google"). Google Analytics uses "cookies", which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. Google uses this information to evaluate your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other data from Google. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. By using this website, you consent to the processing of your data by Google in the manner and for the purposes set out above.

As an AdWords customer, we also use Google Conversion Tracking, an analysis service provided by Google Inc. Google Adwords sets a cookie on your computer ("conversion cookie") if you have accessed our website via a Google ad. These cookies lose their validity after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If you visit certain pages of ours and the cookie has not yet expired, we and Google can recognize that someone has clicked on the ad and thus been redirected to our site. Each AdWords customer receives a different cookie. Cookies can therefore not be tracked through the websites of AdWords customers. The information obtained using the conversion cookie is used to create conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. AdWords customers learn the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a page tagged with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information that can be used to personally identify users. If you do not wish to participate in the tracking process, you can also refuse the setting of a cookie required for this - for example, via a browser setting that generally disables the automatic setting of cookies. You can also disable cookies for conversion tracking by setting your browser to block cookies from the domain "googleadservices.com".
